Exploring A Country Estate – #MyAquaphor Challenge

As working parents, our weekends are pretty sacred and we try to make sure we make the most of them by taking the boys out and about whenever we can. Exploring the odd country estate is always a favourite and Doddington Hall is a local country house on our doorstep that has beautiful grounds, an historic house and a farm shop that sells all the cheese and wine you could dream of amongst other things.

Whilst we would love to have taken a tour of the house (which is beautifully decorated at this time of year), with 2 small people in tow, the chances of taking a leisurely stroll around were fairly slim. We chose to shelve that idea until a rare child-free opportunity presents itself. Instead, we had a look around the shop, purchased some Chocolate Drop red wine (who even knew such a magical combination existed) and took to the outside space to explore.

Eucerin Aquaphor

Our boys are pretty hardy, but when we were invited to try the Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm, never did I think a product could be so handy when we are out and about. It’s handbag (or in my case changing bag) sized and can be used for a multitude of purposes which we certainly tried out during our day;

  • My eldest has eczema on his cheeks so a quick sweep of Aquaphor really soothed and protected
  • Cracked skin around the knuckles of my husband are his problem area so we slathered on some Aquaphor to help heal them
  • I have this really annoying dry patch in the centre of my bottom lip (bit random) and this stuff is a life saver to put on under my lippie
  • And, never one to be outdone, following a poo-nami of epic proportions, the littlest had this stuff rubbed into his little derriere to soothe from a particularly rancid nappy. Lets not dwell on that one shall we.

Putting Aquaphor onto cracked lips

It’s never smooth sailing when you head out with kids is it and I always have this feeling of needing to always cater for the unexpected. My changing bag gets more and more crammed full and I wonder if I’ll ever be able to take out a cute little handbag ever again. After all, where will the endless snacks, 3 changes of clothes and a spare dinosaur fit? Multi-tasking products like Aquaphor are the best invention ever in my view and it we’ll certainly be taking it with us on our next family adventure.

Do you have any multi-tasking essentials that you can’t live without? I’d love to hear your recommendations x
